The museums engage audiences at many learning levels,
always striving to enhance the learner’s appreciation
and understanding of the visual arts. Lectures and demonstrations
provide a window into the themes, cultural history and
techniques of art. Classes sharpen minds as well as skills
in art and craft media. The Mint Museums welcome families,
children, adults and seniors, offering gallery guides,
touchable objects, hands-on workshops and Family Days
that enable participants to connect to art and to each
other. |

Having two locations provides our visitors with twice as
much to see and do! The Mint Museums and their affiliate
groups organize a variety of programs and events throughout
the year. Education programs are designed to enhance
the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions at
both locations, while events mix social interaction with
informal art appreciation. Go to Programs & Events to view upcoming offerings at the Mint Museums. |

Adult Courses & Workshops
Want to try your hand at a certain medium, but not for the long term? Take a workshop in a variety of media. Always wondered about the difference between a Monet and a Manet? Sign up for the Mint’s famous art history courses, typically linked to a current exhibition. Adult classes offer a range of opportunities to explore art as concept and as process. |
 |
 |
Children & Families
Adult-child workshops introduce parents and young children to an exhibition, and finish with an art activity. Afterschool and home school workshops introduce children to diverse art forms and world cultures, while weekend workshops and Family Days provide scavenger hunts and activities for the whole familyís enjoyment. Summer art camps offer creative fun and inspiration for a variety of age levels and abilities. |

Concerts and Performances
Stimulate all the senses by attending performances at the Mint. Chamber concerts, poetry readings and other events are designed to complement the visual art collections and exhibitions on view. |

Events
The Mint Museums and their affiliates offer a number of exciting events throughout the year. Ranging from the Latin American Festival to Derby Daze to the Home and Garden Tour, these and other events enable our members and the community to learn about other cultures, design, art collecting, and special arts-related topics. Social gatherings like galas, festivals, beer and wine tastings, and member openings are a great way to meet your fellow Charlotteans. |

 |
Lectures & Demonstrations
Participants will gain insight to the museum's collections and exhibitions via artists, collectors, and special guest lecturers. Whether it's a gallery walkthrough, a formal lecture, a concert, or a live process demonstration, these programs provide direct links between our visitors and the "real thing!" |

Museum Affiliates' Programs & Events
The affiliate groups of The Mint Museums provide members with additional opportunities to become involved in the Museums through volunteering, educational and social events. Each organization presents unique insights into the Museum and the arts, and many of the Affiliates’ programs are open to the public. Teachers & Schools
The Mint Museums serve thousands of students every year, offering guided tours on a wide range of topics. Many tours are connected to the school curriculum, and one tour is required of all fifth graders in Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Schools. Our partnership also includes: in-class artist residencies, resource kits, student gallery space (Star Gallery), as well as teacher workshops. |
